Digital e-VKI replaces BePork departure sheet

In 2006, Belpork launched its online tracking system Tracy. Many years later, an upgrade of this tool was imminent. One of the innovations is the integration of the digital food chain information form, or e-VKI for short. This will be the replacement for the BePork declaration form.

In recent months, Belpork has been working on revamping its digital tracing platform Tracy, launched in 2006. The revamped platform has become much more efficient and convenient and has since been rolled out. Via Tracy 2.0, pork with the BePork quality label (formerly Certus) can be traced more easily and completely digitally throughout the entire chain. The new version thus simplifies the administrative burden for the pork sector.

Departure sheet abolished

Until now, BePork members drew up a departure sheet for each delivery of pigs to a slaughterhouse. Even if this could already be done digitally, it was often still done on paper. Many data from that departure sheet also reappeared on the food chain information form (FAD) and movement documents. The new version of Tracy therefore provides for the digital formatting of the VKI. As a result of the introduction of this e-VKI, the departure sheet will disappear.

e-VKI increases efficiency

The digital e-QI offers many advantages. For example, Tracy remembers a lot of personal information, which makes it easier to fill in the e-QI the next time it is used. Moreover, the KPI is immediately available to the slaughterhouse. Belpork thus has the data to trace BePork pigs and pig farmers comply with the legal obligation to deliver the VKI to the slaughterhouse.

Transporter provides movement data

However, some data that were on the abolished departure sheet cannot be entered on the e-VKI. The driver, the truck's registration plate or the exact number of pigs delivered, for example. After all, you only know that at the time of departure. Tracy now provides a digital document for that too, to be completed by the carrier.
